Google Adsense Ad Review Center
Hi,
Just to highlight something I saw. Under Adsense setup, Ad Review Center, We have the category filter.
What is the Ad Review Center?
The Ad Review Center is a tool within your account that enables you to review placement-targeted ads that may appear on your pages. If you're interested in more transparency and control over placement-targeted ads appearing on your sites, it may be a good fit for you. You can allow or block individual ad groups and advertisers, as well as filter ads by type: text or image.
What is Category Filters?
Category filtering allows you to block ads from certain categories from appearing on your site. Our system classifies ads automatically and we don't rely on advertiser-provided categorization. Right now, we're only able to support category filtering for English, French, German, and Spanish. Ads in these categories will be blocked if they're in any of the supported languages, regardless of how they've been targeted to your pages.
You can block ads from up to eight of the following categories:
* Cosmetic procedures and surgery: Includes lifts, suctions, lasers, hair removal and restoration, tattoos, and body modification.
* Dating: Includes dating services and online dating communities.
* Drugs and supplements: Includes pharmaceuticals, vitamins, supplements, and related retailers; does not include resources providing information about drugs.
* Get rich quick: Schemes promising fast earning.
* Politics: Includes politics or controversial social issues; does not include ads for news organizations that are not generally associated with a partisan viewpoint on issues.
* Religion: Includes religious ads and ads advocating for or against religious views; does not include astrology or non-denominational spirituality.
* Ringtones and downloadables: Mobile add-ons including ringtones, and other downloadable goodies such as screensavers and wallpapers for desktop PCs and profile layouts and graphics for social networks.
* Sexual and reproductive health: Includes sexual function and fertility ads; does not include normal pregnancy resources.
* Sexually suggestive: Provocative pictures and text.
* Video games (casual and online): Includes video games, online games and downloadable games; does not include video game consoles.
* Weight loss: Includes weight loss, dieting, and related products and programs; doesn't include healthy eating or general fitness ads.

Awesome, looks like Google is showing some love for us publishers.
Did you guys notice the
"NEW You can now show ads from external Google-certified ad networks on your pages. With more ads competing to appear on your pages, your earnings potential should increase over time. Learn more..."
Do you guys know what this is all about? I havent looked into yet.

Google has certified a list of external ad networks. The ad with the highest bid for the ad size will show up on your ad spot. It will enable publishers to earn more.
You can choose to block any external ad networks if you want to.
No wonder I could see a rise in CPM a few weeks ago.

I believe it takes time for it to filter. Eventually you should not see any video games ads.

I blocked politics and religion.
I'm really bummed that adsense isn't as advanced as it could be. I would (explained it on TA already) love to see being able to block / filter categories per domain.
I own 20 websites and they have different niches so i can't filter out health ads because then 2 sites don't get ads, but on my arcade websites i would like to filter out those..
Also custom list of all ads being displayed on your website would be nice so you could block individual ads. I've seen a screenshot of smowtion.com where this is enabled.
